Since I’ve been missing New York lately, I thought it would be fun to put together a little, slightly unconventional (but very valuable) guide to NYC! I’ve covered everything from Food, Fashion & Entertainment to set you up with the coolest places I’ve found in the city. Have fun!

Best Places to Go for a Walk:
Soho: Amazing Window Shopping
Central Park: I can wander here for hours! Sometimes I like to bring a notebook and plan my week, bring a book and read or just be.
Times Square: The best place to act like a tourist! I know, it’s cheesy but if you want to be the ultimate tourist, you can’t miss Times Square! Between the tacky souvenirs (that everyone loves) and the tourist trap restaurants, you will never get bored! If you’ve never been to NYC this is a MUST for your first time!
No trip to NYC is complete without catching at least one musical. Whether it’s on Broadway (or off) everyone that knows me knows that I am completely obsessed with musical theater (trust me, I can sing every single song from more shows than I care to admit). If you’re looking to do New York on a budget, the best place to look for cheap tickets is TKTS. There are a few locations around NY and if you get there early, you can get tickets for up for 75% off for the same day. It only really works if you have a small group or you’re alone but it’s worth the early morning trek. If you’re new to musical theater, here are a few of my faves (in no particular order):
- The Lion King
- Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat
- Les Miserables
- War Horse
- Avenue Q
- The Sound of Music
- Book of Mormon
- Rock of Ages
- Mamma Mia
